Koc University Ford Otosan Automotive Technologies Lab. - KUFOTAL
Koc University – Ford Otosan Automotive Technologies Laboratory (KUFOTAL) was established in 2015 to conduct vehicular technologies research with the support of Ford Otosan. KUFOTAL research topics include but not limited to heterogeneous vehicular communication system design for autonomous vehicles, cooperative perception, cooperative driving, ultra-reliable-low-latency vehicular networks, Teleoperated driving (ToD), 5G and beyond vehicular networks, cybersecurity for V2X, next generation vehicular connectivity technologies such as mmWave, THz and vehicular visible light communications (V-VLC).

KUFOTAL research outputs are tested and validated on laboratory vehicles equipped with perception sensors, C-V2X, IEEE 802.11p modems together with V-VLC capable software-defined-radios. V2X Over-the-air testing capabilities enable interoperable V2X communications testing between vehicles and infrastructure.
KUFOTAL full-time experts maintain the center equipment and conduct research on  Connected and Autonomous vehicles.

Koç University faculty members from the College of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, perform their research in collaboration with KUFOTAL. Moreover, KUFOTAL organizes regular workshops, and participates in both national and international conferences to introduce research findings regarding autonomous and connected vehicles to both academic and industrial communities.
